This coffee is natural processed, this is where the fruit is left in tact when the coffee is dried in the sun. The presence of the fruit during drying imparts different flavor characteristics that adds another dimension to this coffee.
We’re fortunate enough to also offer this same coffee washed processed where the coffee cherries are depulped, fermented, and washed before being left to dry in the sun. This is the most common processing of specialty coffee.

Where is it from?
The Demeka Becha washing station sits on a hill, right in the middle of the coffee growing regions of Bona Zuria in Sidama, Ethiopia. Close to 10,000 coffee producers surround the site. These producers bring their coffees to Demeka Becha to be weighed, depulped, fermented, and washed. Then the coffees are dried in the sun and shipped out. Demeka Becha is owned by Ayele Tulu, and is family ran. His sons, Tsegab and Abinet, are both heavily involved, and Ayele’s wife, Genet Haile Endeshow, is the heart of the business embracing everyone who has the privilege of working with their station or coffee producing sites. The collective efforts of the Becha community to produce such outstanding coffees causes us to feel a great sense of honor in being able to offer it to our coffee community.
