Coffee is Cesar's life, passion, and the means to support his family.
Cesar Mariño lives on his coffee farm with his wife, Luz Nidia Sánchez, and their 5 children. He has been working in the coffee industry since 1997, when he began helping his father. At first, he inherited only 0.25 hectares (a little over half an acre), but after years of hard work they've built their farm to include 11 hectares of coffee with a total of 23 acres and have made it a family business. Cesar focuses on sustainability by avoiding chemical inputs and aims to maintain a high-quality coffee cherry. Only ripe cherries are picked and fermented for 22 hours. Then they're sun-dried in parabolic dryers for 600-720 hours.
