This certified organic coffee came available processed either washed, honey, or natural. On the cupping table, the natural process stood out to us over other the other processes and other naturally processed Ethiopian coffees. Bright and fruity like you'd expect, but not with berry notes typical of Ethiopian coffees, but with guava, strawberry, and mango.
Where its from
Within the villages on the lush mountains of Bensa, Sidama, Ethiopia, 667 coffee farmers have been selling their cherries to local washing stations for many years. Often those coffees were indiscriminately mixed and sold in lots. But in the past few years, an effort has been made to separate the coffees from those villages to celebrate the nuances of their terroir. This coffee comes from the Bombe village and was processed at the Bombe washing station. We love to see this level of traceability in Ethiopia as it celebrates the soil and climate of coffee's birthplace.
Love this coffee! It is very smooth and you can really taste the fruit notes, especially the strawberry. It the perfect coffee to wake up with in the morning. I ordered more after my first cup.
