Whole bean coffee. Roasts and ships Monday through Wednesday.
Varietal: Bourbon, Caturra Process: Washed Elevation: 1700 masl We Taste: Plum, Apricot, Red Apple
When you want something juicy with a mellow acidity, Finca Daniela is there for you. Plum and apricot notes provide a stone-fruit punch while red apple smooths over the whole shebang. Finca Daniela is delicious as a straight-forward black brew, or with a little cream mixed in. Why not?
Where is it from?
It’s fitting that Finca Daniela is named for a beloved member of Nelson Guzman Diaz Santos’ family. The farm, a lovely two hectares in the village of La Libertad, houses young coffee trees (about 3 years old) that produce beautiful coffee from a strong culture of collaboration. The farm is a member of major Peruvian producer group Aroma del Valle. The group unifies Jaen, San Ignacio, and Cutervo with its over 425 members and emphasizes quality while also championing the socio-economic growth of its members. Aroma del Valle consistently puts out 85+ coffees (that’s specialty grade) and works hard to foster, in their own words, “a participatory social identity even inside their own families.” This coffee from Finca Daniela is the hard proof of the combined priorities of family and quality.
