In our third wave coffee haven, we’ll sometimes find ourselves still longing for the comforting reliability of a hot mug of diner coffee. Plain, simple, and kinda dark. Our Belly Warmer was blended to reflect the stiff joe you’re served on early morning road trip breakfast stops and late night visits to your local greasy spoon. Here is your everyday cup of coffee, with the uncompromising quality you’ve come to expect from Methodical. Equal parts of Costa Rican and Brazilian coffees come together in a nutty, chocolatey cup you can return to time after time. Whether you’re running it through the auto-drip machine, stirring in cream and sugar, or tossing it back black, Belly Warmer stands the test.
Where is it from?
Belly Warmer is made up of equal parts Costa Rica, La Pastora and Brazil, Dulce Signature. The Costa Rican component is brought to us from the CoopeTarrazu cooperative group in the San Jose province of Costa Rica. The co-op represents over 3,500 partners in the province, and is committed to the welfare of those partners and their communities. The Brazilian component is the culmination of work by two female producers in the S ão Palo region of Brazil. Together they make Belly Warmer, a laid-back blend geared for nostalgia.
I like to drink my coffee with milk in it and it took me a while to figure out the correct ration for this blend because it is milder than I anticipated and can't handle a lot of outside influence the way something like frontera de planadas can. It makes for a pleasant cup of coffee though overall.
I love this coffee it’s my favorite Methodical blend
When in doubt, I always choose Belly Warmer. It’s just the perfect blend to wake me up in the morning all while offering a warm hug. Keep up the great roasts Methodical!
Nothing super wild (and that's probably what you were going for) but they found the roasting and bean blend sweet spot for sure. natural sweetness, no bitterness. I use 18g coffee in an aeropress (inverted), a tad above medium grind wet filter fill water to #4 (after 30 second degas) at 3m push down slowly
The perfect coffee for someone looking for something traditional but not bitter. I usually drink lighter roast single origins, but this is my go-to if I'm looking for something straight forward and classic. I toss mine in a drip coffee pot, but its full complexity is best seen in a V60 pour-over. Great job, Methodical!
