Walter Bautista is a fourth-generation coffee farmer. It wasn’t until 2016 that Walter planted his own 2000 trees, though, beginning the career that has been handed down to him through the generations. His farm, Medalla Milagrosa, is located in Las Flores in the Santa Bárbara region of Honduras, a rainy hillside area with rich mountain soil. The geography famously makes it difficult to execute one crucial aspect of coffee processing: drying. The rains have created a special challenge to farmers and producers in the area, resulting in the investment in drying systems and the subsequent clear, fruity flavors that are unique to Santa Bárbara coffees.

We're so thankful to work with Walter Bautista again. Walter is a very busy farmer growing all kinds of things, not just coffee. But the coffee he grows is excellent so every year, we purchase Walter's entire coffee harvest. This harvest is the culmination of another year of hard work and care. We hope you enjoy it and we hope you find just as much satisfaction as we do in honoring Walter's work no matter which way you take your coffee.

FAQ

When will my order ship?

Freshness is critical to fully enjoying coffee. We roast to order to ensure your coffee is at peak freshness when it arrives. We roast to order and ship Monday-Thursday. Orders are usually fulfilled the production day after they are placed (for example, orders placed on Monday will ship on Tuesday). Orders placed Thursday-Sunday will be fulfilled and shipped on Monday.

Can my coffee be ground?

By you? Yes. By us, sadly, no. Currently, we can only ship whole-bean coffee.

What if my package is delayed?

Sometimes our shipping partners experience delays due to weather, heightened demand, technical issues, pandemics, or aliens. All of which is out of our hands, except the aliens, but that's not for here.

If your package is delayed, let us know and we'll track it down and escalate its delivery. If it's delayed more than 2 weeks past the shipment date, and your order includes coffee, we'll either refund your money or ship you fresh coffee at no cost.
