Named for one half of our prized paint-by-number renditions of the classic eighteenth century portraits The Blue Boy and Pinkie, Blue Boy represents who we are at Methodical. This coffee embodies a certain classical energy that the painting itself imparts, with a down to earth, paint-by-number twist. The character of this coffee is smooth, chocolatey, sweet; it’s body is velvety soft. It’s a coffee that will stand the test of time, a testament to the origins present in its makeup. Blue Boy does right by these origins, displaying the coffees at their best; he does right by us, representing humble sophistication with panache; and he does right by his namesake, keeping his arcadian gentility alive.
Where it's from
Blue Boy is made of a blend of Guatemala, Ixlama and Honduras, El Rincon Del Sabor. The Guatemalan component is the culmination of work by over 100 family producers in the Guatemalan municipalities of San Pedro Necta and La Libertad in the department of Huehuetenango, a region known for rugged landscapes and high elevation. The Honduran component is sourced from several small quality farms in Honduras' Santa Barbara region. Together they form a classic blend.
We're really enjoying our first bag of Methodical Blue Boy. Expertly packed, our online order arrived quickly. Roasted just before delivery, all we do is grind in the morning, wait a few, and then really enjoy breakfast. The fresh taste gets us moving!
I bought a 12 oz. bag of Blue Boy for my sister for her birthday. She says it is delicious and that it was the perfect present.
I have tried several roasts and Blue Boy is one of my favorites. Smooth and does not get bitter. I found this wonderful coffee on a recent trip to Charleston. What a great find, I am hooked!!!
Great as always. I was first introduced to this blend in Atlanta at Momo Cafe. Always balanced and rich. This me and my wife's every day coffee.
Blue Boy is an absolutely delicious coffee. It is very enjoyable from the first sip to the last swallow. Many coffees get a little bitter if they sit in the carafe too long but not Blue Boy, 30 seconds in the microwave and the cup is just like the first pour.
