We wanted to create a blend that would be friendly to everyones taste. A coffee that would taste great as espresso, be pleasant as morning cup of drip coffee, and stand up well in your espresso + milk. This is currently consisting of our
Honduras El Rincon Del Sabor and our natural Ethiopia Sidama.
I typically only go out of my way to write reviews if it's worth my time - well here I am writing this. Firstly, I'm pretty new to serious espresso making. I've tried a variety of beans from grocery store bought that were roasted who knows when, to another roaster that is "niche", albeit mass-marketed. That is not the case with Methodical coffee. I'm getting what you'd expect out of a locally-roasted coffee. This has nice acidity, great sweetness and bursts with juicy fruit notes it boasts. My recipe was 18g in, 34g out over 26 seconds in an IMS precision basket rated for 18-22g, so plenty of headroom. I used a 25-pound tamper and of course WDT'd beforehand and as you'd expect, great even extraction with zero channeling.
Phenomenal espresso. Lovely chocolates notes, and subtle hint of berry. Just the right balance I’m looking for in my latte. Also shines with versatility in making an excellent, clear, well-balanced pour over cup.
Play Nice is a great blend. If you’re early into your artisan coffee adventure, this blend is perfect for you. Great aroma. Great mouth feel. It has all the subtle notes of each blend on the front end with a smooth finish on the backend. It’s delicious.
Play Nice Make Nice Taste
Push Water Through Bean Dust. Drop In Hot Air Milk. Taste Coffee. Taste Milk. Also Sweet Berries.
In person experience is top notch, as well as excellent shipping post roasting! Will continue to have Methodical in my revolving coffee purchases!
